Cliona Murphy

Board Director & Consultant, Bord Bia

Cliona Murphy is a Chartered Director with extensive board, advisory and executive experience. She is currently a Director of Bord Bia and a Director of the Irish Red Cross and runs her own consultancy business specialising in Innovation and Governance. She is an adjunct professor at the Cork University Business School and a mentor on the IDA’s Future Leader’s Programme.

In her most recent executive role Cliona was Vice President of Global Quality Assurance for PepsiCo. Her twenty-six year career at PepsiCo includes several senior Research & Development and Supply Chain leadership roles in Europe, UK, China, Asia and Global. Prior to PepsiCo she worked for several years for Imperial Chemical Industries in both R&D and Engineering.

Cliona is a former Director of Science Foundation Ireland, Teagasc, the Global Food Safety Initiative and of Portfolio Concentrate Solutions. She is also a member of Trinity College Dublin’s Provost’s Council and of the Industrial Advisory Council of TCD’s Engineering School.

She is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors, a Chartered Engineer with a Degree in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, and an MSc in Food, Nutrition & Health from University College Dublin.
